The Lee County School system has
fourteen different schools. The schools include elementary
schools, middle schools, high schools, and several specialized programs.

Elementary Schools
There are seven elementary schools in the Lee
County School system. Six of these schools operate on a
traditional calendar and students are assigned by attendance district.
Tramway Elementary School operates on a modified year-round
calendar. Students have to apply to attend Tramway
Elementary, and space is limited.

Middle Schools
There are currently two middle schools in the Lee
County school system, with an additional middle school under
construction.
- East Lee Middle School
- West Lee Middle School
High Schools
For many years, Lee County had one high school,
Lee County High School. Many local residents call this high
school "Lee Senior", referring to when the county had junior high
schools instead of the current middle schools. A second high
school, Southern Lee High School opened for the 2005-2006
school year. New for the 2006-2007 school year is Lee Early
College, a program run in coordination with Central Carolina Community
College. Lee Early College students attend school for 5 years
and receive a high school diploma AND associates degree upon graduation.
