Denver Broncos

OK. By now you can probably guess that I’m a Denver Broncos fan. Not sure how, but it started when I was old enough to watch football on TV back in NY. I ended up living in the Colorado Rockies’ Front Range (where the mountains meet the plains) so it was even better for me to be able to support my team.

This year has been a little tough. We started OK with Peyton Manning, but then he declined rapidly due to injury. Brock Osweiler has been OK as his substitute, but I’m not convinced they can go “all the way”. They play great games beating top teams like the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots, but then get pushed to Overtime by the Cleveland Browns and fall to the lowly Oakland Raiders. With beating the Patriots and the Bengals losing last week, we had a golden opportunity to solidify our hold on the 1st seed in the AFC. But we lost, and the Patriots won. At least the Bengals lost too (and lost their starting QB for the season).

But still don’t have the confidence like when John Elway won his 2 Superbowls. Last year we got to the Superbowl which was great – and I had the confidence that we would make a deep playoff run, but this year I don’t feel it. The defense is playing great, but the offence is struggling to produce consistent results. The only saving grace is we will probably win our division, and hopefully Peyton Manning is ready to come back and produce results by the time the playoffs arrive. And hopefully our defense continues to play at a high level – we’re going to need it…
